Skully Baby Blanket

My very first quilt, made when my friend was pregnant. I'd never made a quilt before, but my mother is a serious quilter.  I know how special recieving a quilt made just for you makes you feel, and I wanted to give my friend something that really expressed how happy I was about her new little man.

She is a huge fan of pirates, and I'm a hug fan of baby things that don't look like they came out of a Pamper's commercial.  I designed the quilt to look a bit like the Jolly Roger.  Simple patchwork squares with a large skull applique. 

I'm really pleased with it, considering it's my very first quilt!
